The charity dinner and performances is hosted by Clayton State University’s Vietnamese Student Association to showcase the elegance and splendor of the Vietnamese culture while supporting a charitable cause. This year’s philanthropy is the Cataract Foundation, which is aiming to help elder people regain their vision by sponsoring some of the major cataract operations in rural areas of Vietnam. The funds will aid in the recruiting nurses, in buying equipment and medications for the elders receiving the operation. We hope that through your support we can come together to help those in need; to give back vision to the elders who has longed for sight.

CSU Non-Traditional Student Organization Holds Welcome Sessions, Feb. 1- “Welcome Back to Your Dream”

Clayton State University’s Non-Traditional Student Organization (NTSO) will host two welcome sessions on Tuesday, Feb. 1 in the James M. Baker University Center to usher in the spring 2011 semester. The first session will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in UC265; the second from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in UC268. Light refreshments will be served.
Themed “Welcome Back to Your Dream,” NTSO will share their plans for spring semester and give college survival kits to the first 24 students who sign in at each session. The sessions, like the student organization, are open to all Clayton State University students.
NTSO was formed for the purpose of providing a collaborative community consisting of faculty, staff and students in order to facilitate an effective learning environment at Clayton State University; identifying areas of needed support for non-traditional students; creating and maintaining a listing of all available on-campus and off-campus resources for nontraditional students; and, in turn, providing support to all students of Clayton State University to enable them to successfully achieve their educational goals at Clayton State University. Membership in NTSO is open to all Clayton State University students, faculty, staff, and alumni who desire to provide a supportive community for non-traditional students.

About Dr. Hynes

Dr. Thomas J. (Tim) Hynes Jr., officially began his tenure as the interim president of Clayton State University on May 18, 2009.

On Feb. 9, 2010, University System of Georgia (USG) Chief Academic Officer Susan Herbst announced that the USG Board of Regents had approved the permanent appointment of Dr. Hynes as president of Clayton State University.
